Lately I’ve been wondering if my days as a beauty blogger are over. Hardly any of my peers are blogging, it would seem nobody reads blogs and the whole thing is so fragmented and disingenuous.
I am also bored of what’s out there and find many products and launches are over-hyped with no substance. After 11 years, is my time up? Have brands run out of ideas?
In a bid to try and buy beauty products which hopefully won’t be infiltrated and ruined by influencers on a payroll, I’ve been led down the garden path towards Korean and Japanese skincare courtesy of the unicorn queen, Lima from Fashionicide. Come on, you know her.
First up is an SPF product which has had nothing but glowing reviews. Lima strongly suggested I try Kao Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen SPF50+, so I obliged and ordered it from Amazon. It arrived within a couple of weeks from Japan.
I had been neglecting my SPF care lately which is terrible, I know but I absolutely detest the products I had been using. I hate the consistency, the touch, the smell and think it interferes with my make-up. They always feel sticky/plasticky and some leave a horrible, white residue. But now I have been introduced to this sunscreen by Kao Biore and the tables have been turned.
Made in Japan, Kao Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen SPF50+ is a lightweight, hydrating cream that sinks into the skin instantly and is invisible. This is what sunscreen should feel like! It’s waterproof and of course it protects against UV rays. The hydration part is courtesy of a mix of hyaluronic acid, royal jelly extract and citrus mix and because it leaves skin feeling smooth, it also doubles up as a primer. It won’t leave a white cast either.
I have been using this product for over six months and last week I received my third consecutive order from Amazon which is where this is easily available. It costs in the region of a very reasonable £7-8 for a small size (50g), however the price fluctuates so keep an eye. Even then, its not by a huge margin. My latest order is a great deal at £14.25 including free delivery for a twin pack of 50g tubes. Fortunately, I have never received a customs charge as it is always marked as a gift by the sender.
So there we have – a sunscreen that gives maximum protection, feels virtually invisible and is affordable. Ditch the rest and get on board with this – you will love it!
