As Helen revealed her look for LFW, I felt I should at least show you the top half. Up until 24 hours prior to the big day, I had a completely different ensemble ready, which was mostly black. Then I clapped eyes on this cream lace dress on an unplanned stopover at a shopping centre and seized it with both hands. It’s from Top Shop and probably my first garment from them in all honesty.
I’ve never found any clothes I like in Top Shop and the only things I’ve bought in the past have been accessories and a beautiful polka dot umbrella (that I no longer possess due to a torrential thunderstorm yanking it out of my hands and hurling it across a busy main road). That rule has been broken. Unfortunately it’s incredibly short, which is why you have been spared seeing its hemline.
Pushing aside the fashionable attire, I’m blogging this post for the reason I tried out the first palette that I’d bought from Inglot a couple of weeks ago. Admittedly it was a hurried job (hence why the eye liner work is smudgey) but the most amazing thing is, it lasted for 12 hours with no creases and no re-applying.

I took inspiration from MissChievious‘s Arab eye make-up tutorials and from Oxford Jasmine who recently recreated the look. It’s something I’ve never attempted before (yeah, it shows…) and it didn’t go unnoticed at LFW with several people remarking on how much they liked my eye make-up. I’m not sure if I heard correctly but apparently Johnny Blue Eyes commented on it too. Really? No way!
I promise to put up a selection of photos from the House of Blue Eyes and Illamasqua collaboration tomorrow. I know, I am a horrible tease but believe me, it’s quite a task to trawl through a couple of hundred photos and select (what I truly think are) the finest. And some are a bit rude.
Sheenie

I love that top! I couldn’t wear it myself, but it’s super. And I can’t tell it’s your first time ever trying out the eyeshadow style, I think it came out great – I can imagine you got a ton of comments on it. Love those colors especially!
Thank you, Niki. 🙂 I appreciate your comments on the make-up.
That’s a really lovely look 🙂 I adore my Inglot palettes, the eyeshadows are such good quality.
Thank you, Rebecca. It is a ‘safe’ look though, mild in comparison to the House of Blues at LFW!
I love the eyeliner!
You’ve never bought clothes from Topshop before?! What?! I can’t get over that.
I don’t buy from Topshop…it doesnt fit me. Odd sizes.
I think you looked fab – and well done to Inglot on that palette – it’s gorgeous.
You look gorgeous Sheenie! I love the lace dress. Very pretty on you. Your makeup is lovely also. You always do such a beautiful makeup look.
Yeah sorry, Andrea! Always thought a lot of their stuff was overpriced and not very exciting.
I bought one more palette at the weekend, Helen but that’s my lot from Inglot. I also bought a pot of loose powder akin to the Make Up Forever one we liked but I thought that was expensive at £10. It would seem the Freedom palettes is the most attractive thing from Inglot in terms of price.
Lucy, thank you as always for your sweet words. 🙂
I think you did a great job on the make up, lovely colour choice too!
Thank you, Jasmine! I keep checking your blog for inspiration.
