Cast your minds back to a couple of months ago, where Sheenie and I brought you some images and swatches of Illamasqua’s new Theatre of the Nameless collection.
Well, here we have something of a wrap-up post of some of the other items in the collection that we have enjoyed playing with over the past month.
First up, Havoc precision eyeliner*. I already have the black and gold liquid liners from Illamasqua and adore them. The sponge tip is saturated with product and you do have to be a little careful as it can bleed, as you see here on the back of my hand. It dries a hair darker than it appears wet, but is a gorgeous aubergine shade that dries to a gorgeous shiny finish. A really nice Autumnal alternative to the staple black liquid liner.
Next, Ambition blusher. This is my first proper blusher from Illamasqua. I have a beige toned one that I use for contouring occasionally, but this is the first coloured one. And also, interestingly, the first one that Illamasqua have done that contains shimmer. Ambition is perfect. It layers up beautifully so you can have it as intense or as pale as you like, and it doesn’t make you look like a Cullen. It is the perfect middle ground between Nars Lovejoy and Madly, stays all day, and is super flattering. Backupworthy.
I also purchased the two lipglosses from the collection – Facade and Belladonna. Facade I found really interesting from the event that I went to, as I like murky shades and there was something about this “cold coffee” shade that appealed to me.
It looks fantastic as well. Not quite as “undead” as I anticipated it would. It is very pigmented though so you need to make sure your lips are in perfect nick. It sheers out nicely though and used over the pink of the natural lip tone somehow evens out to be a pretty mauve shade. Ignore the caption on the photo here – the eyes are Maybelline but the lips are Facade.
Belladonna is a fabulous raspberry pink that I know Sheenie has fallen head over heels for, and I know why as it looks fantastic on her. It is brighter than I would normally go for but everyone needs a hot pink gloss in their collection. It is universally flattering as well – I haven’t seen this look dodgy on anyone yet. Illamasqua glosses also smell fantastic, all warm and vanilla-ish. I don’t know why I can’t find my photos of me wearing it at the moment but I’ll post when I can find it.
And finally…you asked me to post some pictures of me wearing the Berber and Zeitgeist pure pigments. It is unmistakeably red! But very dramatic. Actually, I forgot that I was wearing this and went out shopping. Just look at the sparkle! I can’t wait to try Zeitgeist over other shades as well, like purples and plums. I’m also wearing Ambition blusher here – see, it’s lovely.
