Those of you who follow me on Twitter will know that I am currently going through the rather painful process of selling my house and attempting to buy a new one. As a result of this (hopefully clever) move, all purchasing of non-essential items as gone on hold. And yes, believe it or not, nail varnish is classed as a non-essential item. Don’t worry though, I’ve still got plenty of stuff to tide me over, but in the meantime, I am also actively encouraging guest reviews on here so that you get to see the new stuff. So, without further ado, let me hand over to Stina, from The Chic Beauty Blog…

In my guest post today, I am going to talk about the new Fearne Cotton for Boots nail polishes, that are now sold in store and on line for £5.50.
I stumbled across a brand new stand in Boots last week, and it had the whole new collection there staring at me, so I decided to go with 4 polishes to see how I’d get on with them.
The one shown here today is called *Lilac*- original name I thought!? (I prefer nail polishes with a name)
Any way, I have to say that I like the packaging, as it’s simple and slightly vintage looking.. If there’s such a thing as vintage nail polish?
Applying this was not particularly easy, it dries so fast, that you have to apply the first coat super quick, otherwise the brush drags the colour along the nail.
Second coat went better, and I settled on 2 coats for this colour.
The colour is a nice pastel lilac, which is supposed to be in this Spring, so a winner on that front.
Application is not FAB, but it’s do-able. Personally I’d like a bit more for £5.50.
I think that is is slightly over priced, given that no-one knows her brand , so to go straight in and charge that sort of money, well I don’t think it’s a winning situation really!
The colour selection in this collection are nice.. Colours that have been done before by most cosmetic brands, nothing majorly outstanding.
I’d buy more from this collection, purely for the cute bottle design, but I’d really like to see a lower price, such as maybe £3.50 would be more reasonable.
What do you think- have you tried these yet? You can see the other three colours on my nails over on my blog here.
Thank you so much for this, Stina! I love this shade of purple. If you would like to write us a guest post then please get in touch at the usual address.
Pretty lilac. Does look very vintage looking.

Nice colour but I hate Fearne Cotton so couldn’t bring myself to buy anything with her name on it.
pretty …
I’m with Britny – can’t stand that woman. I am dubious of products that celebrities put their names to. It’s not Fearne is Leighton Denny and actually concocted her own nail polish range in the laboratory.
