CND Antiquity - Just Nice Things

CND Antiquity

Read Time:1 Minute, 43 Second

Good morning everyone. I have a beauty of a polish for you today – Creative Nail Design (aka CND)’s Antiquity.

This found its way to me by way of a competition prize (December 2009 – eek –  from Nora of Nail of the Week) , and as CND is so difficult to find in the UK, I am gutted about this actually as this is one of the nicest polishes I have ever used. It is full of pigment and flows on beautifully. It could have been opaque in one coat, but I did two just to make sure.

In actual fact, I had to do three coats, as after the second one, I put some Seche Vite on to dry it, and ended up with the worst bubbled and uneven result. When will I learn that Seche Vite hates metallics?? So I had to do another layer of Antiquity over the top to hide the mess (I really could not be bothered to remove it all and start again). Luckily, it dries mega-fast on its own.

This is a close cousin of Zoya’s Pasha, one of my all time favourite varnishes. Antiquity has a hint more of a frost effect to it but other than that, the colour and finish are remarkably similar.

I reached for this one straight away when looking for a polish I had to wear for a few days. This is because I have some icky breaks on my other hand and so the false nails have had to come into play, and therefore I can’t be bothered to re-do my polish every day at the moment, for fear of dissolving the fake nails. I already lost one down the back of my friend’s dress whilst having to fix her bra to her low cut top with tape. Nice!

This type of colour and finish is still up there as one of my favourites. I know it isnt to everyone’s taste but for an everyday colour that I won’t get bored of, it’s a definite winner. What do you think?

Helen

That is really pretty. I own only one of this brand. Your poor nails! I didn’t realize you were using fake nails.

What do you use instead of SV-topcoat when you use metallics ?

(I have the same problem with stripes and “bold spots” ;S )
