China Glaze Meteor Shower - Just Nice Things

China Glaze Meteor Shower

Read Time:1 Minute, 28 Second

A little while ago, I put a call out on Twitter for a navy blue glitter. Out of all the bottles in my collection, I was lacking a navy blue glitter. now, whilst your average person might not lose any sleep over this, it was bothering me.

Any way, the resounding response was in favour of this one, Meteor Shower, from China Glaze. Remember when China Glaze released that massive glitter collection? When was that? It feels like an eternity ago. There were 50 in the collection and I know it made a lot of nail bloggers very happy. I also know that Stellar and Atlantis are two of my absolute favourite glitters of all time, but for some reason. Meteor Shower just passed me by.

In the bottle, it has a whole load of promise. Navy blue jelly packed with yellow, blue and green glitter. I was seriously excited to try this out.

The formula is opaque and this covered fine in two coats. However, they were the thickest, gloppiest coats ever. This polish needs about 50% thinner added it to make it apply nicely. I felt like I was daubing it on with glue. Also, it’s thirsty. This needed two layers of topcoat, and then it took forever to dry, as you can tell by the shrunken tips in the photos above. It shrunk so badly after a day that I had to take it off. Seriously disappointing.

Yes, it sparkles and for a short period of time it looks absolutely stunning. But the poor application, strange formula and poor wear just puts me off it. It is inching ever closer to the blog sale pile. Sorry, Twitter, you’re normally spot on but this one just didn’t do it for me.

It is beautiful but I cant be doing with hard work polish. I assume you have considered Deborah Lipman for your blue glitter – I dont own any of her polishes but any blog post I have ever read about them was a total rave! x

It’s lovely but you’re right about thirsty – it looks like it needs a whole bottle of seche on it! lol

As soon as I saw your photos I thought that this was a definite for me, but that sounds like a terrible formula. Shame, it’s stunning!

For me this polish is a really good one BUT I always use another polish underneath (a navy polish generally) so that I need only one coat of Meteor Shower on top, as this then minimises the thirstiness and makes it not quite so hard to remove!
