I’d like to bring your attention to this little bottle by Barbara Daly.  It’s called Goodbye Yellow and its purpose is to simply say goodbye to the dreary staining left on nails caused from nail polishes.

Aiming to give nails an instantly clean and healthy appearance the product contains a unique whitening ingredient to leave nails stain free.

I picked this up in my local largest branch of Tesco, curious to see if it lived up to its name.  Layer on a coat of this prior to applying your nail polish or simply leave it as it is.  Goodbye Yellow leaves an almost satin finish, and acts as a smooth canvas so it’s also a base coat.

I’ve been using it for a couple of months and have noticed the staining has been greatly reduced.  It also dries fast but best of all, as a base coat it doesn’t appear thick or lumpy.  A problem I’ve had with other base coats is the consistency often leads to an uneven surface or worse, air bubbles and once that goes wrong, the rest of the manicure is doomed.

At £3.94 for 11ml, Barbara Daly’s products are religiously affordable.  The design of the bottle itself is beautiful; I really like the feel of it.  All in all, a winner.  I suggest you add this gem to your staple diet of nail lacquers.

  1. I remember this!! I bought this years ago when it first launched and it was so good I went through two bottles. I loved the pinky white effect it gave to my nails and used to just throw this on instead of wearing coloured polish.

I don’t know if they’ve changed the forumula (they must have) cos it has a shiny finish when I used to use it and looked as if you had a clear (but better0 top coat on.

  2. Vex, really? I wished I’d discovered it sooner! I really like the formula – gives such a smooth finish.

Lucy, Barbara Daly’s range is available in supermarket chain Tesco in the UK. There are some amazing products and they’re all so affordable.

  3. I’ve been trying to buy Goodbye Yellow by Barbara Daly for some time now. If I search for it, Tesco is the 1st name to come up. But go through to their Tesco Direct and all knowledge of this wonderful little product is denied. I used to buy it from the local Tesco stores which had Barbara Daly make-up etc., alongside other concessions like Max Factor.
Sadly, I’m housebound at the moment, but a friend looked in the same Tesco store and was told that they didn’t. carry it….
So, unless someone can find it, it’s goodbye, yellow?!

  4. I , too, have used this fabulous product for years but can no longer buy it in Tesco. They don’t stock it- or any of her brand any more, such a shame. It’s advertised on eBay but never appears to be available

  5. I bought this years ago and found a bottle at the back of a cupboard and it still does the job. A great product doing what it says on the bottle. So pleased to know that it is still being made.
