Hello everyone,
This is just a quick post to update you all on a couple of things relating to Just Nice Things.
Eagle eyed viewers will have noticed a new logo on the right of the page. What is BITE, we hear you ask? Well, BITE is an acronym for Bloggers Inegrity, Trust & Ethics. BITE is a collective of beauty bloggers who have agreed to adhere to a particular code of conduct, namely disclosure of samples, behaving in an ethical and non-bullying or confrontational manner, encouraging good relationships between bloggers, PRs, brands and readers and also blogging openly and honestly.
There has been much discussion of late about how bloggers should or should not be behaving, and whilst we believe in each to their own, honesty and transparency is something Sheenie and I have always felt passionate about. This is nothing new for us but it is important for us to belong to a collective that are openly promoting best practice.
If you want to find out more, or are a blogger and you wish to join BITE, please submit an application via the BITE website. All applications will be assessed on a periodical basis by an independent panel of experts from within the beauty industry.
On another note, I am moving into my new house this week. Finally! It feels like it has been a long, hard slog over the past few months. However, this does mean that personally I am getting a bit behind. We have more than enough scheduled posts to ensure that Just Nice Things remains updated daily but please, please bear with me if you are waiting for me specifically to respond to an email or comment or to post a review of your product.
(Fear not, I shall be transporting my nail varnish and make-up collection myself. It is not being left in the hands of the removal men).
Thank you!
Helen
I absolutely agree that there has to be a code of conduct for bloggers so happy to see the BITE logo on your page!
Good luck with the move! Remember keep the kettle, the loo roll and the corkscrew in a box of their own!!!
Further to what Liz says, if one or both of you need to go to work the next day make sure you keep a complete suitable outfit in a seperate, labelled bag – you won’t feel like scrabbling around the debris trying to put something together!
