Hello, everyone. Today I have just a few words to say on a special post I have written for MYH – Muslim Youth Helpline. MYH is a charity that provides faith and culturally sensitive support to young people in need. Since it launched in 2001 from the bedroom of 18-year-old Mohammad Sadiq Mamdani, MYH offers a 100% free and confidential service where young muslims can contact by telephone, email, letter and live chat without the fear of being judged or preached at.
I was asked to share my thoughts on grieving for a loved one particularly during the first Ramadan though this could apply to other significant events. I have shared it on my LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook pages, and the responses have touched me. I wanted to post it on here too and so here it is.
Regardless of your beliefs, if you are grieving (and there is no time limit to this), talk to someone or write your thoughts down. Just don’t bottle it up. I hope this post can offer comfort to anyone who’s lost a loved one. It was an honour to write this.
