1) Why did you start your blog?
A year and a half ago (seems like a distant memory!) it was suggested to me by my teacher from university. I was unsure of how to get ‘out there’ and show the world my writing ability, so he told me to write all my rambles down in blog-form. I’m so glad he did, I never knew how much of a treasured hobby it would become! I know he secretly googles it too.
2) How long have you been blogging for?
It will be two years in the summer, yet feels like I have only just started.
3) What do you enjoy most about blogging?
There are many things I love about blogging, mainly the people I’ve met and the opportunities that have found me but most importantly, I can share my excitement over a new pair of shoes, a good old ramble about never ever find the perfect fitting playsuit; its my own little part of the internet I can write anything and everything my heart desires!
4) What frustrates you most about blogging?
The one thing I get frustrated about is not having the time to reply to lovely comments, I really wish I had more time in the day.
5) How much time a week do you spend on your blog / reading other people’s blogs?
I usually read my dashboard every evening, and I update my blog as and when I feel like. This could be four times a week, when I clearly have far too much to chatter about, or once. I can’t schedule posts or plan in advance, I prefer writing posts when I’m genuinely excited about writing something and sharing.
6) What advice do you have for aspiring beauty bloggers?
Be true to yourself, be inspired by others, but stick to want you want to write about, your blog is yours!
7) What other hobbies/interests do you have?
My all time obsession is collecting magazines! Some girls dream of a walk-in wardrobe, I just need a room with all my magazines tidily archived.
8 ) How many bottles of nail varnish do you own?
A nice round number – 40.
9) Do you set yourself a shopping budget, or do you purchase on an as-and-when basis?
I prefer to buy as and when but I get dreadful buyers guilt if I splurge!
10) What is your favourite make-up brand, and why?
I don’t have a particular favourite make-up brand, but Nars is a very top contender. There’s not an item I haven’t bought and not loved.
11) Do you ever leave the house without wearing make-up?
Yes! Always on a Sunday.
12) What is your favourite beauty product and why?
Mascara – I love having long lashes. Dior Show is my desert island staple.
13) What is your favourite nail varnish of all time? (yep, only one!)
It may seem rather boring but Nails Inc Elizabeth Street is my perfect pink/nude. Looks perfect with a tan, and instantly makes my nails look neater and perfectly polished.
14) Tell us about the best holiday you’ve ever been on.
Cuba was the best holiday ever – what more could you want?
15) What would be your ideal day off?
Being a tourist in my own city (London). There’s nothing better than roaming the V&A, drinking lemonade and eating scones in the sunshine terrace.
16) What is your favourite TV show?
At the moment I am addicted to The Big Bang Theory – I love American TV!
17) What music do you enjoy listening to?
Anything from 80s to hip-hop!
18) What is your favourite food?
Rum and raisin ice cream, yum!
19) Where would you most like to visit in the world? (money no object)
Oh too many places to choose from but I would love to travel across America.
20) Tell us a secret…
I hate chocolate cake with a vengeance and I can rap along to Kanye pretty damn well!
