Urban Decay recently brought out their Naked foundation reformulated and rebranded. Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation comes in a whopping 50 shades. I thought the original was OK but I didn’t repurchase it. The same reason applies to the concealer of the same namesake.
But then I was intrigued by the new version and my interest was piqued further by the promise of it being an improved formula so I popped into the Carnaby Street boutique to get colour-matched…and my match was spot-on. I mean, really spot-on. It’s tiresome to find most foundations matched to my skin tone are actually too yellow. Some days I can get away with it but other times it does look like I have jaundice. Any way I was kindly given a sample of Stay Naked in 51WY that lasted me a few days.
I put the foundation through a tough test by wearing it all day on a sweltering, hot day in London, enduring various modes of public transport and large crowds and the air-con at work. I kept the foundation on for over 12 hours and it did not require reapplying. Stay Naked passed with flying colours and it was then that I knew I wanted the full-size bottle, which is interestingly in rectangular shaped plastic bottle.
The vegan-friendly formula is lightweight and gives a demi-matte, long-lasting and flawless finish. It also doesn’t transfer. If your skin type is normal like mine, then you are likely to get on with this but always get a sample (regardless of which foundation brand you are interested in). Two friends tried Stay Naked – one loved it and the other didn’t.
By the way, the original Naked foundation is being discontinued and if you liked that, don’t be upset because the Stay Naked is chuffin’ good.
