I don’t normally blog about one singular make-up brush but this one is an exception and it’s my first foray into Sigma brushes. The Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush has changed the way I apply foundation. It distributes product evenly and smoothly, leaving a flawless finish and I owe it to Fleur de Force for recommending this brush in a beauty round-up video in February. I love this one so much that I’ve bought a back-up.
The synthetic brush looks like a Mohawk thanks to its double wedge angle and being a Kabuki, is thicker in density than the average make-up brush. Due to its unique design, it is able to cover every angle, curve and crease on the face whether liquid, powder or cream is used. You’re meant to use one side of the wedge to apply product and then use the second side to smooth the surface and eliminate any streaks. The sharp point in the middle of the brush is useful for more precise application, which I’ve found handy in applying concealer under the eyes.
The only downside comes with washing this brush as it takes a good amount of elbow grease and time due to the density of the bristles retaining more product. You’ll also know when it’s time to wash the brush as the bristles will feel thicker from the absorption.
Sigma’s 3DHD Kabuki Brush is available in black and pink from lookfantastic.com for £24 and Cult Beauty at £17.50. Why the difference in price I do not know, however I can tell you Cult Beauty charges for delivery from £3.95 (free for orders over £50) and Look Fantastic’s standard delivery in the UK is free.
