If you’ve been keeping up with my laser hair removal diary entries, then let me bring you up to date with the current situation.
I underwent two separate sessions just before Christmas for my chin and underarms respectively and before I knew it, the next appointment had come round, which took place last week. This marked my sixth and final chin laser hair removal and I’ve got to say, I am relieved!
I’m virtually fuzz-free and just in time for my holiday in a few weeks. Speaking of which, I have one more appointment left for my underarms but because I am going to be exposed to the sun, I have to return to the clinic for a test patch first to determine what level the laser should be at. This has prolonged concluding my treatment in March as usually it’s six weeks apart but it’s no biggie personally. The outcome is fantastic; not only do I not need to shave, there’s also no darkening or skin discolouration caused from the razor.
Sk:n covers all areas for laser hair removal for men and women. How it feels will depend on where on the body and the thickness of the hair. I’m told the most sensitive parts are the bikini area (and that region in general) and the face.
The areas I’ve had treated are small and quick to do so I tend to stick it out without pausing – it seems laughable to keep stopping and starting but that’s just me. Every individual and their tolerance levels are different and certainly, if the hairs are more coarse and/or plentiful, the sensation will be felt more. You can tell the laser is working when you smell the singed hairs. Yeah, that part stings the nostrils a bit.
The results have been far greater than I could’ve hoped for but my pain threshold is starting to falter a bit. Perhaps it’s because my body and my nerves are letting their guard down, knowing it’s nearly over. It’s also a test of commitment to keep up with the visits over a period that spans six months so prepare to make a regular commute. That said, Sk:n offers appointments late into the evening for those of us with busy lives.
If you’re contemplating having laser hair removal done for cosmetic or health reasons, the long term results are life changing. To find out if you qualify, you can meet with a consultant at Sk:n. To make an enquiry and to find your nearest clinic, visit www.sknclinics.co.uk.
