I was never one for Converses. I know they’ve been around for years and they only really caught my attention on the feet of the cast of the Reduced Shakespeare Company (FYI, the greatest bard comedians EVER), but until a couple of years ago, I wasn’t keen on the look of them.
Converse has quickly become one of the most iconic and recognisable brands in history since its inception in 1908. Rock stars and movie stars have all worn Converse trainers and as designs and styles have evolved, the humble Converse has become fashionable and certainly more appealing.
As someone not bothered by them originally, I’ve come to grow fond of this footwear with two pairs in my collection. My latest pair is a coral colour which I was kindly sent me Get The Label, who sell Converses at affordable discounted prices.
I wore my new Converses in Barcelona, beginning from my journey to the airport and taking me to Sagrada Familia, walking on average 5 miles in the day. I went for a size bigger than my usual shoe size, which was a wise decision. My first pair is a tight fit with my big toe touching the inner edge. That nay just be my oddly shaped feet!
The more acquainted I become with Converse, the more I appreciate that they are much more than a pair of shoes – they are actually designed for comfort. The pastel colours also add a touch of femininity so I am keen to expand my collection and go for lilac or cream next.
