Here’s a mask which doesn’t seem to get much of a mention in beauty blogging – well, not to my knowledge any way. It should because it is damn good.
A few months ago, I was rummaging in my drawers for something and found Eve Lom’s Rescue Mask*. I shrugged and gave it a try. Then I kept returning to it time and time again. There really is something special about this that leaves my skin soft to touch and a face that glows. It’s a deep-cleansing treatment that pulls out all stops in clearing congested skin and brightening complexion.
After cleansing, you apply a medium to thick layer on dry skin. Then leave to set for 15-20 minutes. The aroma of camphor will fill your nose (the stuff that Vicks smells of), invigorating and refreshing tired skin not to mention its anti-septic properties are beneficial too. When the time is up, gently buff off the dry mask with your fingers in small upward circular motions, then wipe off the excess with a damp warm flannel.
I’m slowly working my way through Eve Lom’s skincare range and so far, everything I touch works in my favour. I have dry to normal skin, and the Rescue Mask revives my skin, giving it a much needed boost. I also noticed my make-up applied and looked better (especially on my cheeks which always gets dehydrated). I am banking on the mask drawing out impurities and leaving a purified blank canvas for the artwork.
Eve Lom’s Rescue Mask costs £35 for 50ml and £55 for 100ml, and is available from Eve Lom, Space NK stores and online.
