A couple of weeks ago, a skincare specialist pointed out I was lacking hydration around my eyes. I can’t say I am surprised when I look in the mirror every day and notice how tired I am. I reckon we are all guilty of neglecting this area in favour of concentrating more on taking care of the rest of the face.

They say eyes are the window to the soul but while we can’t guarantee we will get our much needed eight hour sleep every day, there are ways to dodge the bullet by perking up the dullness around the eye area.  This is where Elemis comes in with its Hydra-Gel Eye Masks from its ever popular Pro-Collagen range.

These masks come in pairs (as opposed to one mask) that are heavily soaked in a cocktail of seaweeds containing moisturising marine algae padina pavonica with potent plankton extract to tighten and lift, as well as Hyaluronic acid to hydrate the delicate eye area and boost microcirculation and chlorella to firm, tone and reduce the appearance of dark circles. That is my biggest concern so anything that can help limit the dark circles is going to get a gold star from me.

The masks are transparent and come in sachets (six in a box) that you peel off a plastic backing sheet and gently press under the eye area. They fit perfectly and stay put comfortably, and the coolness is immediately soothing. Leave them on for 20 minutes and once removed, the skin feels refreshed without any stickiness. You can then apply make-up as normal though I prefer to use this after cleansing.

It’s probably a good idea to use these once a week to get best results. I’ve given these a go three times and so far, so good – think of it as a little bit of TLC for the eye area. I absolutely love the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream so I sort of knew what I would be getting from Elemis.

Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks are out now and cost £46. For more information, visit Elemis’ official website.
