Beauty Adikt: New Solar Glows

In case you weren’t aware, last summer YouTuber Miss Beauty Adikt (whom I am proud to call my friend) launched her make-up line with four blinding loose powder highlighters called Solar Glows. This year she is taking 2018 by the horns with not just more highlighters to add to her arsenal but eye shadows and glitters too (coming soon – she’s such a tease!).

I haven’t stopped using Selina’s Solar Glows and to be honest, I didn’t think she could top them but being the perfectionist that she is, Selina has come up with four new shades and crucially, has changed the design and packaging of the Solar Glow to make it easier to use. Now all the Solar Glows come with a rotating sifter avoiding any spillage and wastage of product and the see-through lid is now black matte with ‘Beauty Adikt’ emblazoned across, which looks sophisticated and classy. As I mentioned, there are four new shades suitable from fair to deep skin tones. There is Lunar and Aurora but when I clapped eyes on Selina and Sunbeam, I knew I had to have these two because the colours are so distinctive and beguiling.

Selina (which is Latin for ‘sky’/’heaven’) is a beautiful and flattering apricot gold while Sunbeam, which could be compared to Fenty Beauty’s Trophy Wife, is a rich, golden sunflower yellow (reminds me of the colour of tumeric!), which will look incredible on medium to deep skin tones. Both highlighters are extremely pigmented and this is evident from the dry swatches below:

I’ve only managed to wear Selina in the day time (albeit toned it down) but reckon this is a show stopper for a really glammed up look. Sunbeam is very bold and is certainly one to pull out for parties and weddings. That said, I wouldn’t limit these to just being worn as highlighters because they are versatile enough to be used on the eyes and also on the body.

Selina’s passion for make-up really comes through with these Solar Glows especially with the more vibrant shades. In an over saturated market, it is difficult to stand out from the competition but girlfriend has done good. I’m so proud of you, Selina!

Beauty Adikt’s new Solar Glows are £14 each and available from You can still pick up the original Solar Glows in their old packaging at a reduced price of £11 (while stocks last).
