‘Anastasia’ has got to be the nicest name to associate with a beauty brand/expert. In fact, it’s just a beautiful name on its own.
Anastasia Beverly Hills is an American beauty brand fronted by beauty expert Anastasia, and it has made a big splash over this side of the Atlantic with one particularly amazing product – the Dipbrow Pomade.
For years I have not been comfortable with the idea of filling in my brows. I guess this stems from them being shaped unevenly so when I did attempt to shade them in, I looked somewhat deranged. I have since started to tread carefully with using such products as matte eye shadows and an eyebrow pencil, yet it doesn’t quite leave me with fabulous brows I hope for and despite having dark brows, there are some gaps that need colouring in.
I have not read a bad word about the Dipbrow Pomade – it is the ultimate brow product that defines, shades and doesn’t budge without looking caked on.
I bought the shade Chocolate as I thought it would compliment my current hair colour. Ebony (black) seemed like it would appear too harsh particularly if I don’t have skill controlling over how much I apply. It’s a very generous sized pot so it’s in it for the long haul.
I begun by using a very tiny amount, in fact my brush barely made a dent in the pot and immediately I discovered how easy it was to work with. The creamy smudge-free formula clings to the hairs for optimal definition and not the skin (my worst nightmare with shading in brows). It’s suitable for oily skin and humid climates, which makes me think you can pack this in your travel bag. I also like how it feels – it’s weightless and I am not conscious of anything sticky sitting on my brows.
Depending on your confidence and experience, you can build upon for more intensity (which I am working on – I’m really a wuss on brow filling).
I always notice a good pair of sculpted brows and wholeheartedly appreciate (and envy) incredibly shaped ones like Fashionicide and Rhian from Pretty Green Eyes. I’m still getting used to learning how to shape them neatly and evenly but I am loving the Dipbrow Pomade which has made my ordeal somewhat sweeter. I’m now tempted to try Ebony since Chocolate has worked in my favour.
