Hey, it’s Friday, it’s almost the weekend and this means I’ve got a blogger I want you to meet…welcome Polly from Hello, Polly. The lady loves red lips and writes a cracking fashion and beauty blog.
Polly and I share a mutual dislike for First Capital Connect trains (the appalling rail service that runs from Bedford to Brighton) for which Polly regularly gives a blow-by-blow account of her journeys on Twitter. And not in a trainspotting kind of way.

Why did you start your blog?
Because I can’t keep quiet about the things I love for very long at all, and have to share them.
How long have you been blogging for?
I think I started my very first blog at around 14, but Hello, Polly has been around since September of 2012 or thereabouts.
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
How fulfilling it is to write and not stop for breath until I’m done, joint with lovely feedback.
What frustrates you most about blogging?
Writers’ block, without a doubt.
How much time a week do you spend on your blog/reading other people’s blogs?
A good few hours, usually – maybe one a day? It depends what’s going on in my life and what I’m in the mood to read or write!
What advice do you have for aspiring bloggers?
Don’t get discouraged. It takes a while to get into the swing of writing regularly and find your “voice”, not to mention developing a readership and all that jazz.
What other interests do you have?
I love taking photos, reading something not on a screen and the theatre.
How many bottles of nail varnish do you own?
35+, last count.
Do you set yourself a shopping budget, or do you purchase on an as-and-when basis?
As and when, budget permitting, I suppose!
What is your favourite make-up brand, and why?
This is tough. My make-up bag would say MAC, so I’ll go with them – they’re best known for their high impact looks, but their basic products are consistently decent quality.
Do you ever leave the house without wearing make-up?
Gosh, yes.
What is your favourite beauty product and why?
Red lipstick. It makes me look as if I’ve made an effort when I really, really have not.
What is your favourite nail varnish of all time? (yep, only one!)
Chanel Rouge Noir.
Tell us about the best holiday you’ve ever been on.
Two weeks on the west coast of America. I saw San Diego, Vegas and the Grand Canyon, and LA. I constantly dream of buying a spur of the moment plane ticket to go back.
What would be your ideal day off?
Lots of sleep, lots of rubbish TV, and maybe a quick venture out of doors with the camera. Days off, to me, mean recovery!
What is your favourite TV show?
I’m currently really into How I Met Your Mother.
What music do you enjoy listening to?
Well, Maroon 5 is currently playing, but I love music and have a pretty wide range of it. The last (and best) gig I’ve been to was Red Hot Chili Peppers, without a doubt.
What is your favourite food?
Pasta!
Where would you most like to visit in the world? (money no object)
I want to go back to San Diego, but if it’s a first time visit? Barcelona.

I’ve been known to sleep in my make-up.
