Despite loving all the glitz, glam and shimmer you can obtain from your nail varnish collection, sometimes you just crave a perfect creme polish. Kind of the equivalent to preferring just a glass of wine to a fancy cocktail, or pulling on your tracksuit bottoms after a day of wearing your Sunday best.
I didn’t really delve too deeply into OPI’s Colección de España when it came out last year. Perhaps because I just didn’t think it interesting enough, and probably because it came out at around the same time as dozens of more exciting polishes that I felt I needed in my collection.
However, Radiant Babe was kind enough to send me the Colección de España mini set, giving me a chance to try a few of these out. You’ve already seen Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees from this set, and now it’s the turn of No Spain, No Gain.
In the (mini) bottle, this doesn’t look very exciting. It’s a not quite pink, not quite purple, not quite berry toned creme polish. But actually, I really like it. It has been the perfect antidote to shimmers and glitters and other polishes that I am kind of exhausted by at the moment.
For a mini, the application was surprisingly excellent. I know I’ve struggled with these before but this was great.
Two thin coats and I was done. It dried super fast, leaving me with a perfect manicure in under 20 minutes. I love this because it is eyecatching in tht it is a striking shade of blue toned plum that is still work appropriate without being weak, and just looks glossy and classy.
It’s not a million miles from other similar polishes I own, such as Models Own Turkish Delight but as far as I am concerned, these types of shades will always have a home in my collection.
This polish was kindly sent to me for review from Radiant Babe.
