Coriander – the herb of Gods. If you’ve been raised on a diet for which coriander (or ‘cilantro’ to the our Transatlantic cousins) forms a staple part of the ingredients to the majority of dishes, its absence is noticeable if it’s left out. If you sit in the camp where you think coriander tastes like soap then…well, I do think you’re strange (sorry!). Speaking of soap, I genuinely wonder if those who despise coriander, wouldn’t mind it as part of an ingredient in a shower gel. You see, Crabtree & Evelyn have taken the humble coriander and married its peppery flavour with the zestiness of citron and lemon leaf (with sweet honey) for their Citron & Coriander Body Wash*, an invigorating and aromatic shower gel. It’s the sunshine we’re all craving packed in this bottle.
I have to say, I really enjoy using this shower gel; it leaves a soft scent, is unisex and doesn’t dry out the skin. My perception of Crabtree & Evelyn used to a bit too “Laura Ashley” (or ‘mumsy’) but the rebranding has transformed the image of Crabtree & Evelyn. The packaging is contemporary and vibrant. It also reminds me of Molton Brown. Crabtree & Evelyn’s shower gel is usually £16 for 250ml, and Molton Brown commands £20 for 300ml. My maths isn’t great but I am guessing they are of a similar price point.
Crabtree & Evelyn has a good reputation with their hand creams and having sampled this shower gel, I’m intrigued to try more from their range especially the Pomegranate & Argan Oil and Rosewater & Pink Peppercorn shower gels.
You can pick this up from Crabtree & Evelyn’s website and John Lewis.
