By Terry’s Terrybly Densiliss

I wanna say something. I’m gonna put it out there. If you like it, you can take it, if you don’t, send it right back….this new foundation costs £75.

This is By Terry’s exciting new serum and foundation in one. It claims to smooth, illuminate and mattify the complexion. It also controls wrinkles so encapsulated with these powers it’s basically the Ferrari of foundations.

By Terry is a carefully nurtured, luxurious niche brand. If you use By Terry products, you won’t bat an eyelid at the cost. The most I’ve spent on a foundation is £37 for Chanel (the Perfection Lumiere) which I was horribly disappointed with. Thankfully Terry de Gunzburg’s wondrous potion doesn’t falter where Chanel did. A 6 hour wear foundation? There aren’t 6 hours in the day!

There are two more factors that work in the favour of By Terry’s Terrybly Densiliss (which can I add is not a great name): firstly it’s a serum and foundation in one so you don’t need the former on its own and secondly, the amount you need to cover your face is as little as two little blobs. Honestly, the coverage is pretty phenomenal and this is a first for me as I normally use a few more pumps from other foundations. With that in mind, £75 doesn’t look as ‘terryfying’.

There are 10 radiant shades in total, and I’m an accurate match for number 8 – Warm Sand. The foundation has a soft, almost airbrushed finish that is not too matte and not too dewy – it’s perched nicely in the middle and is totally different to any other base I’ve worn. It applies beautifully and blends in seconds. The moment it sinks into my skin I get an instant glow. My face appears less tired and more bright and perky instead, and I would even say it masks the fine lines for a radiant, youthful look.

It smells so nice and feels weightless. I would say this offers a medium coverage. I use Illamasqua’s Hydra Veil to prep my face as I’ve found it is a universal primer that works amazingly across all the foundations I have tried and it compliments By Terry’s latest foundation.

As for how it performs? I haven’t had to retouch through the day and I tend not to so I do prefer a foundation with long-lasting results. I’ve worn this nearly every day to work where I clearly spend the most time and it’s served me superbly.

In Ron Burgandy’s world, this is very classy (I did want to say “it’s the balls”…oh wait, I just did!) but it costs £75. Did I mention it costs £75? It sounds excessive for a foundation but you are getting two products in one. A decent serum will set you back at least £40 and a good foundation is about £30 on average. Besides when so little product is needed, this foundation looks likely to outlast my regular one.

I won’t dispute the fact there are far cheaper, alternative serum foundations on the market for a fraction of the price. I should point out this product is aimed at mature skin (I hope it’s OK to start taking care of mine now) so the results are likely to be more effective than on younger looking skin. Well, I’m in love.

Terrybly Densiliss is available exclusively at Space NK in-store and online.

wow, looking totally flawless 🙂 – I might have to see if I can get a sample of this…£75 is too much to risk wasting…but as you say it’s a two-in-one product so justifiable if I can find a colour match that doesn’t cause a skin reaction (fish-belly pallor AND extreme sensitivity, lucky me)
Thanks for the heads-up, I’ll check this out, Jo
