New skincare from Balance Me

Last year I had my first taste of Balance Me with their Rose Otto hand cream. I squeezed every last bit of out the tube so it’s fair to say I got on very well with it.

I’m now smitten with something else by them – well, two things – their new Anti-Ageing Face Serum and Intensive Wrinkle Repair Cream.

The serum targets the visible signs of ageing with its natural active ingredients and is suitable for all skin types. It firms, lifts and plumps, smoothing the surface of the skin and protects from environmental damage too.

The serum is housed in a glass bottle with a pipette and is an unusual pale yellow liquid with a quite a strong lemony scent that takes some getting used to. The magical ingredients are acmella flower extract from South Africa, rich blackberry seed extract, abyssinian oil, olive wax and shea butter with hyaluronic acid to lock in water and keep the skin hydrated.

I have been using the serum for a couple of months, twice a day – just a couple of drops smoothed over a cleansed face (never more, a tiny amount really goes a long way) and followed by the moisturiser.

As a result I’ve noticed my skin feels very smooth, supple and looks clear and bright. It’s a different kind of serum I am used to, organic rather than chemically-based with an oiliness to it that’s reflective from its ingredients. A serum is like an extra security blanket to use with your moisturiser and I can’t imagine not using one now that I’ve got into the habit of it…which brings me nicely onto the Intensive Wrinkle Repair Cream.

It says it’s for mature and very dry skin so my mum would love this but I don’t think there is anything wrong with taking precautionary steps for myself now, is there?

It is a richly hydrating anti-ageing moisturiser with collagen-boosting blackberry leaf, balancing neroli and super moisturising hyaluronic acid designed to plump, firm and smooth dry and mature skins to encourage healthy, youthful-looking complexions.

It is a luscious cream with a very subtle sweet scent that sinks into the skin fabulously and what’s even better is it’s fine to use both as a day and night cream.  You can massage it all over your neck and décolletage too to reap the benefits. Together with the serum, the partnership is lush.

As with all things by Balance Me, their products are created in the UK and are void of the usual nasties so brilliant news for those with ultra sensitive skin and certainly for all when they don’t test on animals. It’s reassuring to find a brand you can put your trust that remains British and one which I hope will go from strength to strength.

Balance Me’s Anti-Ageing Face Serum costs £36 for 30ml and the Intensive Wrinkle Repair Cream is £30 for a 50ml pot. Utterly reasonable and irresistable.

I have been pleasantly suprised by how much I have enjoyed using some of the Balance Me products and how easily they have slipped into my routine. I saw the new products on their website and my interest was piqued so your review is timely. BTW I love your new blog layout – very chic.

Thank you for your kind words, Jan. I think the cream is my favourite between the two. I can’t believe how reasonably priced they are for products made in the UK! Let me know how you get on with these.

I’ve not used anything from Balance Me but the serum sounds good – might have to look Ito that!

I love Balance Me too!!! I picked up their Super Moisturising Body Wash with the latest Glamour issue. Might by another to get my hand on their Lip Salve too.
